Every month, Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging puts out the Sunshine Line. The Sunshine Line is a monthly newsletter that contains all sorts of events that are taking place around Jefferson County at our senior centers, articles, and helpful hints for senior citizens. Below are the articles that appeared in this month's Sunshine Line. If you would like to request to have the Sunshine Line delivered every month to your house, please either call the Agency at (814) 849-3096, visit a senior center, stop into the Agency's Admin building on Main Street in Brookville, or send us an e-mail requesting the Sunshine Line.

Caseworkers are available at the Centers see the following chart. If you require assistance with PACE Rebates, etc., prior to those scheduled days, please contact the Center Directors or our office to make arrangements to have your paperwork completed. Please make an appointment by calling the Older American Social Center in your area. For an appointment in Oliver please call the Agency's main office at 1-800-852-8036 or 849-3096. Workers are prepared to assist with PACE, Property Tax/Rent Rebate, LIHEAP and other forms.
Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (PACE), PLEASE BRING with you: 1) Proof of Residency (two different kinds) such as: a valid drivers license, a copy of a Social Security Check, a rent receipt, or a signed Federal, State, or Local Tax return; 2) Proof of Age such as: Birth Certificate, Hospital Birth Record, passport or naturalization paper, military discharge papers if age or date of birth is shown; and 3) Record of 2005 or 2006 Income from all sources.
Assistance is also available Monday through Friday at the Area Agency
on Aging Main Office, which is located at 186 Main Street, Brookville, PA
from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please call the number below to setup an
appointment.

Are you interested in having a chance to get involved in our 4 year planning process? The Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging will hold a public hearing in conjunction with our normally scheduled advisory meeting. Everyone is invited to attend and provide input on the goals supplied by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. The meeting will be held on March 6, 2008 at 12:30pm at the Heritage House. If you are interested in joining us for lunch at noon, please call by March 4th at noon.
