Every month, Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging puts out the Sunshine Line. The Sunshine Line is a monthly newsletter that contains all sorts of events that are taking place at our senior centers in Jefferson County, along with articles, and helpful hints for senior citizens. Below are the articles that appeared in this month's Sunshine Line. If you would like to request to have the Sunshine Line delivered every month to your house, please either call the Agency at (814) 849-3096, visit a senior center, stop into the Agency's Administration building on 186 Main Street in Brookville, or send us an e-mail requesting the Sunshine Line.

Oil Painting Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
* Fall is in the air! We want you to be safe and prepared for the month to come. So please sign up for Fall prevention class at 8 a.m. on the 30th. Drop by to fill in your registration and pick up your home safety check-list.
* Learn about seasonal affective disorder and how to prevent it. Presentation by Brookville Hospital will be at 11:30 on Wednesday the 8th.
* Make a harvest basket on Tuesday the 14th at 1 p.m. Cost $10
* Fall card making will be featured at 11 on Thursday the 23rd.
* Flu Shots will be given on Monday, October 27 Beginning at 10 a.m.
* Loose Nuts will play for the Masquerade party on Halloween. Free Admission! Open Kitchen. Costume judging! (Costumes not required for attendence.)
* Weight Wise is a 10 week program for healthy eating. Prevent holiday weight gain. No Cost!

Oktoberfest 2008 will be held on Saturday the 18th. We will be having our vendors here in the morning from 9-2 and a "murder mystery" dinner in the evening starting at 6pm. Seating is limited for the dinner, so call and make your reservations with Jenn.
APPRISE Volunteers will be here for an information session on the 21st at 7pm called "What Do You Need to Know About Medicare."
FLU SHOTS will be given Friday, October 24th from 10- noon
