Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging has formed an ongoing partnership with the Jefferson County Victim of Crime Advocate/Witness Program that has and will continue to offer a great source of protection for the elderly of Jefferson County against abuse. The Jefferson County Victim of Crime Advocate/Witness Program has a history of successful outreach and public awareness on the issue of elder abuse. The primary law enforcement agencies in the area also serve as members on the Board of Directors. JCAAA has produced and will continue to produce adequate supplies of information from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging's campaign to curb abuse. JCAAA will also continue to ensure the use of these materials by local radio stations in their communications through their community bulletin board features and through the agency's monthly newsletter, the Sunshine Line. Additional media coverage will be purchased if necessary to get the word out on elder abuse.
